First Day of Class

Yesterday I attended my afternoon Intermediate 2D Animation class. Last quarter I was in the intro version of this class. In that class I had to learn how to draw a cartoon character and its personality poses. Once drawn I had to redraw the character in vector then animate it. The class was challenging and fun.

The intermediate class now requires that I use the past character I designed or design a new one for a minute long short movie. The 30 second final project from my intro class was hard enough. The short movie I'm sure will challenge me even further and be much more difficult. I remember the workload I had last quarter and it was quite a handful. This short movie is a lot for me to handle all on my own, so I decided to seek out a partner.

I asked this animation student that seems trust worthy. She seems to like Japanese style animation. I offered to try to learn her style of drawing to help show I'm not a control freak and plus, I would be further challenged by doing so. I would like to incorporate "Turbo" the Penguin character I designed last quarter, but I don't know where he would fit in. Maybe I could try applying a Japanese style to him.

My partner told me about her character. She animated a panda bear wearing a super hero costume. I love Panda Express so I approve of the panda. The story behind the panda is that it has some friends and they break in and steal Halloween costumes. It all sounds like a hilarious story and I can't wait until this project takes off.
