Idea for the Story

So my partner and I have thought of a plan to do a little bit of a batman parody with a toy story mix. The story entails of a super hero named Super Thimbles and his nemesis Evil Mr. Scuttles who are toys in a backyard. The story begins with Thimbles keeping watch over the backyard. He's watching the backyard and occasionally the dog in the alley. Thimbles then spots Mr. Scuttles taking hostages on an inner tube. Mr Scuttles then starts to pock at the inner tube to draw Super Thimbles in. Thimbles spots Scuttles and races across the zip line does a flip and lands at Scuttles side. They both start to have a sword fight. Super Thimbles uses a funnoodle and Mr. Scuttles has his trusty pointy umbrella.

Thimbles then backs Mr. Scuttles to the end of the diving board. Scuttles activates his helicopter blades and makes his escape over the fence. From a distance you here a boy scream "Cannon Ball!". The boy charges and jumps into the pool. He causes a destructive tidal wave that sends the toy hostages to the bottom of the water. Thimbles smacks his head. In the next scene showing Evil Mr. Scuttles landing and the dog waiting for him. Scuttles Screams and is carried away by the dog.

So far my partner and I have a story and I have redesigned my penguin character to be more suitable for the story we're trying to achieve.

First Day of Class

Yesterday I attended my afternoon Intermediate 2D Animation class. Last quarter I was in the intro version of this class. In that class I had to learn how to draw a cartoon character and its personality poses. Once drawn I had to redraw the character in vector then animate it. The class was challenging and fun.

The intermediate class now requires that I use the past character I designed or design a new one for a minute long short movie. The 30 second final project from my intro class was hard enough. The short movie I'm sure will challenge me even further and be much more difficult. I remember the workload I had last quarter and it was quite a handful. This short movie is a lot for me to handle all on my own, so I decided to seek out a partner.

I asked this animation student that seems trust worthy. She seems to like Japanese style animation. I offered to try to learn her style of drawing to help show I'm not a control freak and plus, I would be further challenged by doing so. I would like to incorporate "Turbo" the Penguin character I designed last quarter, but I don't know where he would fit in. Maybe I could try applying a Japanese style to him.

My partner told me about her character. She animated a panda bear wearing a super hero costume. I love Panda Express so I approve of the panda. The story behind the panda is that it has some friends and they break in and steal Halloween costumes. It all sounds like a hilarious story and I can't wait until this project takes off.
